Free AI Mock Interview Practice for Freshers & Campus Placements
Walk into your placement interview having already done ten. OfferStack’s AI interviewer runs a realistic mock interview online, by voice or text, with technical, coding and HR rounds matched to your target role. When you finish, you get a scored report showing exactly what to improve.

Most freshers do not fail interviews for lack of skill. They fail because they have never rehearsed thinking out loud under pressure. An online mock interview builds that habit in a low-stakes setting, and because the AI interviewer is available any time, you can practise the night before your placement drive as easily as a month ahead.
Choose the interview you are preparing for
- Full interview (about 60 minutes): a technical round with coding, followed by an HR round, like a real campus placement loop.
- Technical only (about 45 minutes): coding and core computer science questions, with no HR round.
- HR / behavioural only (about 20 minutes): your projects, teamwork, motivation and fit, with no coding.
You also set your experience level (fresher, 0–2, 3–5 or 5+ years) and target role, such as Software Engineer or Data Analyst. A fresher is never asked about large-scale system design or leading teams.
Technical interview questions you will practise
For freshers, the technical round sticks to what campus interviews actually test:
- Data structures and coding: easy to easy-medium problems on arrays, strings, hash maps and recursion.
- Core CS fundamentals: OOP concepts, DBMS and SQL basics, and operating system basics.
- Your projects and internships: what you built, why you chose that approach, and what you would do differently.
Coding questions open in a built-in editor that supports Python, Java, C++ and JavaScript. Your code is reviewed, and the interviewer discusses your approach, edge cases and complexity just as a real interviewer would.
HR interview questions you will practise
The HR round covers the behavioural questions every fresher should be ready for: teamwork, handling conflict, ownership, a time you failed, and why you want the role. The interviewer listens for STAR-style answers (situation, task, action, result). When an answer is vague, it asks a follow-up such as “what did you personally do?” or “what was the result?”.
How the AI mock interview works
- Pick your target role, experience level and interview type.
- Speak your answers hands-free (works best in Chrome or Edge, with Indian English recognition), or type them if you prefer.
- The interviewer reacts to what you said and asks follow-ups, then moves on to the next question or the coding task.
- End the interview to get a scored report with question-by-question feedback, including a stronger sample answer for each weak response.
Frequently asked questions
Is the AI mock interview free?
Yes. Mock interviews are free to practise on OfferStack.
Can I answer by voice or by typing?
Both. Voice mode is hands-free: speak your answer, pause for about two seconds, and the interviewer responds. It works best in Chrome or Edge. In other browsers, or if you prefer, you can type your answers.
Does it cover both technical and HR rounds?
Yes. You can run a technical round, an HR/behavioural round, or a full interview that combines both, like a real campus placement process.
Is it suitable for freshers with no work experience?
Yes. In fresher mode, questions focus on core CS fundamentals, your college projects, coursework and internships, and coding problems stay at an easy to easy-medium level.
Which programming languages can I use in the coding round?
Python, Java, C++ and JavaScript.
How is the feedback score calculated?
The score comes from your actual answer to each question, not a vague overall impression, so a weak or skipped answer is reflected honestly. The report also shows an improved sample answer for each weak response.
